Privacy Policy

The short version

Hunt Builder is a free, browser-based tool. We don't require accounts, we don't collect personal data, and we don't show ads. Your hunts are generated entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

What we collect

If you click "OK, fine" on our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site. This collects:

Anonymous page views and events (e.g. "a hunt was created with 5 stations")
Approximate country/city (IP-based, anonymized)
Browser type and screen size

If you click "No thanks," no analytics code is loaded at all — zero tracking.

What we do NOT collect

Your name, email, or any personal information
The content of your treasure hunts (stations, emojis, locations)
Anything that could identify you personally

Cookies

We store one item in your browser's local storage: your cookie consent choice (analytics_consent). This is not a cookie and is never sent to any server. If you consent to analytics, Google Analytics may set its own cookies — see Google's cookie policy.

Third-party services

Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage analytics (only if you consent)
Netlify — hosts the site; see Netlify's privacy policy
Ko-fi — optional donation link on the finale page; their own privacy policy applies if you visit their site

Children's privacy

Hunt Builder is designed to be used by families, including children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The tool works entirely in the browser with no data transmission.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top. Since we don't collect email addresses, we can't notify you directly — but we'll keep it simple and honest.
